北海道舞踏フェスティバルは2017年に札幌国際舞踏フェスティバルとして誕生しました。以来、年に1回のペースで形式を変えながら開催してきました。
初年度は2日間で8組を国内外から招聘、他にシンポジウムや展示を行いました。
2年目からは北海道舞踏フェスティバルに名称を変更し、北海道内6市町を巡業しながら公演、ワークショップ、フォーラムやイベントを行いました。
3年目は公演や展示などの道内巡業に加えて、アジアのフェスティバルとの提携をスタートしました。
4年目はコロナウイルスの感染拡大で中止や延期を余儀なくされながらも、小樽と札幌公演は実施しました。岩見沢公演などは無人公演となり、急遽オンラインフェスティバルを実施しました。
５年目となる今年もまたコロナ禍での開催となり困難は続きますが、道内巡業とオンラインフェスティバルの二本立てでいまできることを実施していきます。

The Hokkaido Butoh Festival was born in 2017 as the Sapporo International Butoh Festival. Since then, the festival has been held once a year in a different format.
In the first year, we invited eight groups from Japan and abroad for two days, and also held symposiums and exhibitions.
In the second year, the festival changed its name to the Hokkaido Butoh Festival and toured six cities and towns in Hokkaido, holding performances, workshops, forums and events.
In the third year, in addition to touring around Hokkaido for performances and exhibitions, we started partnerships with festivals in Asia.
In the fourth year, we were forced to cancel and postpone performances due to the spread of the coronavirus, but we were able to hold performances in Otaru and Sapporo.
This year, the fifth year of the festival, we will continue to face difficulties due to the coronavirus again, but we will do what we can do now with our two main activities, the tour in Hokkaido and the online festival.

その後20年の休止。2005年再開。
谷川俊太郎をはじめ、多くの作家や音楽家、美術家と共演多数。
2010年、某ビルを乗っ取るパフォーマンスでマスコミで話題になる。
近年では海外からの共演者の来日が相次ぐ。
ポーランドの美大やロシアの国立大の人文学科の研究対象になるなど、活動は舞踏の範疇を越境。
グラフィックデザイナーでもあり、舞踏家。

Hal learned the BUTOH at the Hoppou Butoh-Ha in 1980s.
After he stopped performing Butoh for twenty years, He restarted Butoh in 2005.
He act with Shuntaro Tanikawa, and many musicians and artists.
In 2010, He organize "Squat Building Performance" and It's got into the news.
He was selected as subject of study in University in Poland and Russia.
He is the Northern Butoh dancer.
田仲 ハル / Hal Tanaka
「YUKIO SUZUKI Projects」代表／振付家・ダンサー。1997年アスベスト館にて舞踏を始め、2000年より自身の創作活動を開始。世界40都市を超える地域で活動を展開し、しなやかで繊細に、且つ空間からはみだすような強靭な身体・ダンスは、多くの観客を魅了している。MV出演やモデル活動、ミュージシャンとの共同制作なども行う。また、子供ダンス作品の振付・演出や、障害のある方へのワークショップなど、身体と感覚を自由に開放し、個性や感性を刺激する表現を生み出す活動を幅広く展開している。 2012年フランス・パリ市立劇場「Danse Elargie」で10組のファイナリストに選ばれた。 www.suzu3.com
A choreographer and dancer, representative of "YUKIO SUZUKI Projects," he began performing butoh at the Asbestos-Kan in 1997 and began his own creative activities in 2000. He has been active in more than 40 cities around the world, attracting audiences with his supple, delicate, and strong body and dance that seems to protrude from the space. he also appears in music videos, works as a model, and collaborates with musicians. He has also choreographed and directed dance pieces for children and workshops for people with disabilities, and is involved in a wide range of activities that open up the body and senses and create expressions that stimulate individuality and sensitivity. In 2012, he was selected as one of the ten finalists in the "Danse Elargie" at the Theatre Ville de Paris in France.

玉川大学で演劇を専攻、平行して、日本舞踊と舞踏も学ぶ。ダンサーとして、ニブロール・伊藤キム・山田うん等の作品に参加。
2007年より2015年まで、故・室伏鴻の舞踏公演に出演、今日に及ぶ深い影響を受ける。
2005年より、「身体の構造」「空間や音楽と身体の相互作用」に着目した作品を創りはじめる。
2010年から、大谷能生や蓮沼執太などの音楽家と共に、身体と音楽の関係性をめぐる共同作業を公演。
2012年、横浜ダンスコレクションEX2012にて、『Hetero』（共同振付：関かおり）が在日フランス大使館賞受賞。
自身のメソッドとして、舞踏や武術をベースに日本人の身体と感性を生かし、生物学・脳科学等からインスパイアされた表現方法論「網状身体」を開発。ワークショップなど多数開催。
セゾン文化財団ジュニアフェロー（2013-14年）、同シニアフェロー（2017-19年）。

Dancer/ Choreographer
Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1980, Iwabuchi has been presenting choreographies that focus on “structure of the human body” and “interaction of space, music, and human body” since 2005. He has been constantly presenting experimental works that depicts the relationship between body and music with musicians such as Yosio Ootani and Shuta Hasunuma since 2010. In addition, he also actively collaborates with creators of other fields such as animation or modern art. From the entrance of Setagaya art museum and The Grand Gallery at Yokohama Museum of Art to outdoor performances as a part of Roppongi Art Night, Iwabuchi has performed outside the theaters, utilizing the characteristics of such space. In addition to giving workshops, he also works in other various fields. His Hetero, which he choreographed with Kaori Seki, won The French Embassy Prize for Young Choreographer for Yokohama Dance collection EX 2012.

元藤燁子に師事。2001～2003年、アスベスト館の作品に出演。2003年～2010年、室伏鴻が主宰するKo&Edge Co.に参加。2016年、旅回り一座 ゑびす大黑座を立ち上げ、様々な地域で巡業を行う。洋の東西を問わず、様々な文化を折衷した出し物を興行している。 2018年より、学生や様々な地域の住民と、地域社会が抱える問題を題材に「舞踏ミュージカル」の創作も行っている。
平成22年度 文化庁新進芸術家海外研修派遣制度研修員。

He studied under Akiko Motofuji, performed in Asbestos Kan productions from 2001 to 2003, and joined Ko Murobushi's Ko & Edge Co. from 2003 to 2010. In 2016, he founded the traveling troupe Ebisu Daikoku-za, which tours in various regions. The troupe's performances are an eclectic mix of both Eastern and Western cultures. Since 2018, he has also been working with students and residents of various regions to create a butoh musical about issues facing local communities.
He was a 2010 recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists.

1971年北海道砂川市生まれ。18歳で京都に出て能楽を学び、1996年より舞台の道に入る。2014年に舞踏作品「天人五衰」を発表する。その作品では自作の能面を使用した独特の表現法「ケツ能」を確立し、好評を得る。。2017年8月「A Choreographic Dialogue among East Asian Dancers」（北京）に招聘される。同年9月より、KYOTO舞踏館にて「反重力子 花のかんばせ」を毎週土曜日にロングラン上演（ただし現在はコロナのため休止中）。
Born 1971 in Sunagawa, Hokkaido, Yasuo Fukurozaka moved to Kyoto at the age of 18 to study Noh, and began his career on the stage in 1996. In 2014, he released a butoh piece, "Tennin no Gosui", in which he used his own Noh masks to establish a unique method of expression called "Ketsu Noh", which was well received. In August 2017, he was invited to "A Choreographic Dialogue among East Asian Dancers" in Beijing, and in September of the same year, he began a long-running performance of "Han jyuuryoku shi, Hana no Kanbase" every Saturday at the KYOTO Butoh Kan (currently on hiatus due to Corona).
袋坂 ヤスオ / Yasuo Fukurozaka
フランスで生まれる。
舞踏家として内観的な稽古、自然体験、痛み、多数のアーティストとのコラボレーションなどの体験から得たインスピレーションを空間に描き出す。
日本滞在中に舞踏と出会い、その後ヒマラヤでリゾーム・リー氏に師事しSubbody Butoh methodを学ぶ。
また、ニューヨークや日本では中嶋夏氏、和栗由紀夫氏、エイコ＆コマ氏にも師事する。
彼女にとって舞踏とは光と影がある生命の踊りで、心によって課せられた判断、外見または制限から離れることができるものである。
想像的で革命的なプロセスのもと、舞踏は自由で無限の可能性をもち、反射と変換を助けてくれる。
舞踏はダンスの域を越え、彼女の身体と環境を繋ぐライフスタイルそのものとなっている。

Syv Bruzeau is a Butoh dancer who draws her inspiration from Nature, introspective practices and her long experience with pain.
She started to study and perform Butoh in 2010 and this unique art form has become a support for reflection and transformation. She mainly trained at the Subbody Butoh School in the Himalayas, and attended other trainings by Yukio Waguri, Natsu Nakajima, Atsushi Takenouki, Eiko and Koma, Vangeline, in New York City and Japan.
For Syv, Butoh is the dance of Life with all its spectrum of shadows and lights, away from judgments, appearances or limitations imposed by the mind. A creative and liberating process, Butoh is a space of freedom and infinite possibilities.
More than a dance, Butoh has become a life style in an intimate relationship with her body and her environment.

1942年アメリカ・ケンタッキー州出身。
58〜60年ルイ・ビル・ミュージック・アカデミーでフレンチホルンと作曲を専攻。
シンシナティ音楽院、イーストマン音楽院を経て、70〜75年ジェームス・ブラウン・バンドでのアレンジが音楽活動の第一歩となった。
75年 Paul Simonの「Still Crazy After All These Years」、76年 The Starland Vocal Band「Afternoon Delight」でグラミー賞を獲得。
その後、フランク・シナトラ、ポール・マッカートニー、ポール・サイモン、ビリー・ジョエル等のアレンジを担当し、ジャズ、フュージョン、ポップスと幅広い名アレンジでアメリカ音楽界での地位を確立した。
84年に「マンハッタン・ジャズ・クインテット（MJQ）」89年に「マンハッタン・ジャズ・オーケストラ（MJO）」を結成して以降、その活動の充実ぶりは目を見張るばかり。

Born 1942 in Kentucky, USA.
Majored in French horn and composition at the Louisville Music Academy from 1958 to 1960.
After attending the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the Eastman School of Music, his first step in his musical career was arranging for the James Brown Band from 1970 to 1975.
He won Grammy Awards for Paul Simon's "Still Crazy After All These Years" in 1975 and The Starland Vocal Band's "Afternoon Delight" in 1976.
Since then, he has arranged for Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, and others.
He has established his position in the American music world with his wide range of famous arrangements.

奥野義典
Saxophonist 1962年2月11日 小樽市に生まれる。小樽在住。
弘前大学ＪＡＺＺ研究会にてＳＡＸを手にし音楽活動を始め、その後上京。松風鉱一氏に師事。
97年日本最大級のジャズイベント“横浜ジャズプロムナード”に初出演後、脱サラ、プロ転向。トップミュージシャンとの共演を重ねる。
道外でのおもな共演者は…渋谷毅、板橋文夫、峰厚介、林栄一、向井滋春、池田芳夫、廣木光一、小山彰太、ヤヒロトモヒロ、江藤良人、野瀬栄進（ＮＹ在住）など。
道内のジャズフェスティバルにも多数参加し、「北海道に奥野あり」の実力を見せつけた。ときに豪快にブロウし、ときに繊細に歌う演奏スタイルは自由奔放そのもの。ジャズ・インプロヴィゼイションの神髄を堪能させてくれる。
これまでに3枚のリーダーアルバムを発表。

Yoshinori Okuno
Saxophonist Born in Otaru City on February 11, 1962. Lives in Otaru.
Started his musical career by taking up the Saxophone at Hirosaki University's Jazz Study Group, and later moved to Tokyo. Studied under Koichi Matsukaze.
In 1997, after performing for the first time at the Yokohama Jazz Promenade, one of the largest jazz events in Japan, he left the business and turned professional. He has performed with many top musicians.
Major collaborators outside of Hokkaido include Takeshi Shibuya, Fumio Itabashi, Kosuke Mine, Eiichi Hayashi, Shigeharu Mukai, Yoshio Ikeda, Koichi Hiroki, Shota Koyama, Tomohiro Yahiro, Yoshihito Eto, and Eishin Nose (who lives in New York).
He has also participated in many jazz festivals in Hokkaido, demonstrating his ability as "Okuno in Hokkaido. His style of playing, which sometimes blows wildly and sometimes sings delicately, is free-spirited. His performance style is uninhibited, sometimes bellowing and sometimes singing delicately, giving us a taste of the essence of jazz improvisation.

柳真也(やなぎまさや)//ベース
1974年生まれ。愛知県の大学に在学中にエレキベースをはじめ、22歳でウッドベースに転向。故市ノ瀬美音氏に師事。
26歳ころから名古屋のジャズクラブを中心に本格的に演奏活動をはじめる。2004年に北海道へ移住。札幌を中心に演奏活動をはじめる。
2014年より札幌芸術の森が主宰しデイビット・マシューズ(p)が音楽監督をするビッグバンド、札幌ジャズアンビシャスに加入。
2018年HTB北海道テレビ開局50周年記念テーマソング「ハイタッチ」のレコーディングに参加。他、サイドマンとして多数のレコーディングに参加している。
柳真也名義のリーダーアルバムを2018年に「Sunshine & leaves 」「Sirius 」を2作品同時リリースと、2021年「Fair Weather｣をリリース。
ジングルミュージックスクール、ベース科講師。

Masaya Yanagi / Bass
Born in 1974. Started playing the electric bass while attending university in Aichi Prefecture, and switched to the wood bass at the age of 22. Studied under the late Mion Ichinose.
Moved to Hokkaido in 2004. In 2004, she moved to Hokkaido and began performing mainly in Sapporo.
In 2014, she joined Sapporo Jazz Ambitious, a big band organized by Sapporo Art Park and directed by David Matthews (p).
In 2018, he participated in the recording of the theme song "High Touch" for the 50th anniversary of HTB Hokkaido Television. He has also participated in many other recordings as a sideman.
He released two albums under the name Shinya Yanagi, "Sunshine & leaves" and "Sirius" in 2018, and "Fair Weather" in 2021.
He teaches bass at Jingle Music School.
He believes in solid and flexible Blues&Swing, and is trusted by various jazz musicians in Hokkaido and abroad.
吉田野乃子
1987年生まれ。北海道岩見沢市出身。 10歳からサックスを始め、高校時代、小樽在住のサックス奏者、奥野義典氏に師事。2006年夏、単身ニューヨークに渡る。
NY市立大学音楽科卒業。ジョン・ゾーンとの出会いにより、前衛音楽の世界に惹かれる。マルチリードプレイヤー、ネッド・ローゼンバーグに師事。NYで結成した6人組のバンド” SSSS (Super Seaweed Sex Scandal)”で、2010年5月、ドイツ、メールス音楽祭に出演。2週間のヨーロッパツアーを行う。
2009年からNYで活動している前衛ノイズジャズロックバンド”Pet Bottle Ningen (ペットボトル人間)”でジョン・ゾーン主宰のTzadikレーベルより2枚のアルバムをリリース。4度の日本ツアーを行う。
2014年4月、ベーシスト、ロン・アンダーソンの前衛プログレバンド”PAK”のメンバーとして、ドラマー吉田達也氏と日本ツアーを行う。2014年よりソロプロジェクトを始動。2015年6月には初のソロカナダツアーを行い、2015年10月には自己のレーベルからソロアルバム『Lotus』をリリース。2015年12月より帰国し、活動拠点を北海道に移す。リーダーバンド"Cubic Zero立方体・零”等で活動中。
Nonoko Yoshida
Born in 1987. Born in Iwamizawa, Hokkaido. Started playing the saxophone at the age of 10, and studied under Otaru-based saxophonist Yoshinori Okuno in high school.
In the summer of 2006, she moved to New York City by herself and graduated from CCNY Music Department. Studied under multi-reed player Ned Rosenberg, and formed a six-piece band called SSSS (Super Seaweed Sex Scandal) in New York. They toured Europe for two weeks.
Since 2009, she has been active in the New York avant-garde noise-jazz-rock band Pet Bottle Ningen, which has released two albums on John Zorn's Tzadik label and toured Japan four times.
In April 2014, he toured Japan as a member of bassist Ron Anderson's avant-garde progressive band "PAK" with drummer Tatsuya Yoshida. She returned to Japan in December 2015 and moved her base of activities to Hokkaido. she is currently active in the leader band "Cubic Zero" and other bands.
坪田佳之
北海道深川市出身、千歳市在住。北海道大学ジャズ研究会に所属し、ジャズチューバの道に進む。現在は自身が立ち上げたニューオリンズスタイルの重音圧ブラスバンド、GREEN CARPET BRASS BANDのほか、ツインギター、ドラム、チューバからなるプログレッシブロックバンドcanadaなど、札幌を中心に活動中。
Yoshiyuki Tsubota
Born in Fukagawa, Hokkaido and currently lives in Chitose City. He was a member of the Hokkaido University Jazz Group and went on to become a jazz tuba player.
He is currently active around Sapporo with his own New Orleans-style heavy brass band, GREEN CARPET BRASS BAND, as well as his progressive rock band, canada, which consists of twin guitars, drums, and tuba.
吉武裕二/KIM YOOI
1994年生まれ北海道出身在日韓国人3世。北海道教育大学岩見沢校 芸術課程 芸術文化コース アートマネージメント音楽研究室卒業。
吉武裕二(プロデューサー)/KIM YOOI(ミュージシャン)として活動中。
10代前半からサックスをはじめ、大学在学中は田野城寿男に師事、2016年前衛サックス奏者吉田野乃子との出会いにより、前衛音楽・フリーインプロヴィゼーションに傾倒する。
その後札幌を拠点とし、北の至宝と呼ばれるKUNIYUKI TAKAHASHIの影響を受け即興とダンスミュージックを組み合わせたマシーンライブセットを志す。
また現在北海道を拠点に活動するジャズミュージシャンなどで構成されるTotal Knock Out Orchestraにテナーサックス奏者として参加している。
プロデューサーとしてはこれまでに、サカナクション主催野外複合 カルチャーイベントSAKANATRIBE、JOIN ALIVEなどでエリアプロデュースを行う。
2020年には北海道在住のハードウェア機材を操るミュージシャンKUNIYUKI TAKAHASHI、Naohito Uchiyama、MUTOと共に自らがプロデュースしたLIVE映像作品「SYNCHRONIZATION」に出演。
Yuji Yoshitake / KIM YOOI
Born in Hokkaido in 1994, Kim is a third generation Korean living in Japan. Graduated from Hokkaido University of Education, Iwamizawa, Art Course, Art and Culture Course, Art Management Music Laboratory.
Currently working as Yuji Yoshitake (producer)/KIM YOOI (musician).
He started playing the saxophone in his early teens, and studied under Toshio Tanojo while at university. In 2016, he met the avant-garde saxophonist Nonoko Yoshida, and became devoted to avant-garde music and free improvisation.
He aspired to create a machine live set combining improvisation and dance music under the influence of KUNIYUKI TAKAHASHI, known as the treasure of the north.
He is also a tenor saxophonist in the Total Knock Out Orchestra, a group of jazz musicians based in Hokkaido.
